The Government has announced new funding for bus services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin using money saved by scaling back HS2.
Telford and Wrekin Council will receive £1.05 million and Shropshire Council will receive £1.84 million to provide more regular and reliable services and/or cheaper fares.
For Telford & Wrekin Council, the addition £1.05 million comes on top of £650,938 which has already been awarded to the Council as part of the Government's Bus Service Improvement Plan.
The £2 single bus fare cap has also been extended across England until 31 December 2024.
