Today, Mark was delighted to receive confirmation from the Secretary of State for Culture that the Government has awarded an extra £476,200 for new sports facilities in Telford & Wrekin.
Allscott Heath FC will receive £1200 towards a £1,937 project to replace the goalposts.
Allscott Heath Sports & Social Club will receive £475,000 towards a £2,383,248 project to create new changing rooms, upgrade the grass pitches and improve disabled access.
This funding comes from the latest allocations of a £300 million nationwide capital investment in grassroots facilities.
Projects being supported across the UK range from building or upgrading pavilions, changing rooms and pitches to installing new floodlights and fencing. Many of the grants awarded aim to improve disabled access to sports facilities.
Modern, accessible, grassroots sports facilities are vital to help people get active and nurture future talent, so this grant is great news not only for Allscott but for Telford & Wrekin as a whole.
