Wrekin MP, Mark Pritchard, will meet with Police Divisional Commander, Tom Harding, and West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, John Campion, in Newport on Friday.

The meeting has been arranged by the Wrekin MP to discuss policing in the town, rural crime and ways in which the local community can help local police reduce anti social behaviour.

Mr Pritchard said "Crime in Newport is low, but no one is complacent. There are always more the police and the community can do - to make Newport even safer. Policing has changed in Newport over recent years, new models of policing have been introduced, crime has changed and so has modern policing, Newport is at the vanguard of that change"

The MP will chair a meeting of the PCC, local Councillors and the Divisional Superintendent.
