Wrekin MP, Mark Pritchard, has thanked the people of Shropshire and the Shropshire Star for helping to collect over one hundred twenty instruments for five orphanages and a musical school for the disabled in Georgia in the South Caucuses. The final instruments were delivered and distributed by local volunteers last month.
Mr Pritchard said; “I want to thank the Shropshire Star, its readers, and the residents of Shropshire for having been so generous in donating their used, discarded and second hand instruments to improve the lives of so many disadvantaged children in Georgia. These instruments are making a real difference to these special lives”.
The MP is now launching a new appeal for more instruments for a school and orphanage in Sierra Leone.
Anyone wanting to donate instruments can use the Shropshire Star’s offices around the county as a drop off location.
