Wrekin MP, Mark Pritchard, has met with the new Acting Superintendent for West Mercia's Police Shropshire Division, Mo Lansdale.
Mr Pritchard raised concerns about thefts from land rovers, illicit drugs, rural oil thefts as well as child sexual exploitation.
Mr Pritchard said: " I am glad West Mercia Police are now recruiting more officers. I hope that more rural crime prevention and detection will now take place. Rural crime is still low in Shropshire, but there have been some recent spikes which need to be dealt with".
