I was pleased to meet with Professor Siddharthan Chandran, CEO of the UK Dementia Research Institute (DRI) in Parliament to discuss their latest research on Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
The DRI estimates that 1,563 people in The Wrekin constituency are living with dementia.
Mark said:
"Every person with dementia deserves high-quality, compassionate care from diagnosis through to end of life. Timely diagnosis is vital to ensure that a person with dementia can access the advice, information, care and support to maintain independence and quality of life for as long as possible.
"It is hugely encouraging that new medications have been licensed for adults in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. This marks an important step towards a more hopeful future for people with dementia and their families."
