Mark has thrown his support behind a new campaign to scrap VAT on e-books and other digital reading materials.
The Government does not charge VAT on hard copy books or newspapers, but does charge VAT on the digital versions.
There should be no barriers preventing access to knowledge and new ideas. The law needs to catch up with the reality that many people now read using digital devices. It is time to close this loophole and ensure that people who use e-books are not punished for making that choice.
