It was great to meet with CSW President, Mervyn Thomas, at 10 Downing Street.
We discussed the work of CSW and the Government to prevent the persecution of Christians across the globe.
CSW's teams work in more than 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East to uphold and protect the right to freedom of religion or belief. They gather first-hand evidence of violations of the right to freedom of religion.
Nobody should live in fear because of their faith. Those with faith do a huge amount of good locally and internationally and I’m glad the Prime Minister has given his full support to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in calling out those countries who persecute the Church.
We are fortunate to have many active church communities in The Wrekin constituency, including those at St Andrew's Church Shifnal, St. Nicholas Church, Newport, Shropshire, St Mary Magdalene Church, Albrighton, WV7 3EQ and All Saints Church, Wellington.
