The Government wants to increase solar power generation by having solar panels on thousands of acres of rooftops on supermarkets, car parks and warehouses - reducing the need for solar farms on greenfield sites.

Today I asked the Energy Ministers if they will support Shropshire farmers to put solar panels on the roofs of agricultural buildings, helping farmers to diversify their business and deliver local community energy schemes.

I will meet with the Climate and Net Zero Minister to discuss this further.
