Today in Parliament, Mark attended an event to mark #WorldDiabetesDay.
About 1 in 12 people in The Wrekin constituency are living with diabetes. The NHS spends around £10 billion a year on diabetes – about 10 per cent of its budget.
This year's event had a particular focus on Type 1 diabetes, which affects about 400,000 people in the UK.
Mark said:
"As it is not preventable, I am pleased that the Government and the NHS are focusing on improving the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes and helping them to manage their condition. This includes reducing the number of amputations and hospital stays by improving access to specialist inpatient support."
