Mark asked Ministers to update Parliament on when the Government's working group on fertilisers should report and what assessment has been made of the impact of rises in prices on farmers in Shropshire.
Ministers confirmed that the first meeting of the fertiliser taskforce has been held to discuss potential mitigations to the challenges which global supply pressures are causing.
The Government has also brought forward half of this year's Basic Payment Scheme payment as an advance injection of cash to farm businesses, which will help farmers deal with high fertiliser prices.
In response, Mark said:
"It is important to recognise the impact fertiliser prices are having on local farmers and food production. I am glad the Government is taking action."
