Mark has written to West Mercia's Police and Crime Commissioner, John Campion, to ask for Shropshire’s A41 to be included in a new roll out of average speed cameras in West Mercia.
He has also written to town and parish councils along the A41 route to ask for their support for new cameras.
West Mercia Police now have 20 additional traffic officers patrolling the force area, but everyone who uses the A41 knows it can be a treacherous road with scores of deaths and serious injuries every year.
It's about education and improved visibility along the A41, not just about average speed cameras, but new cameras will certainly contribute to reducing deaths and injuries. With over 100 deaths and serious injuries on Shropshire’s roads last year, it is clear more needs to be done.
