The Government has extended its support for the most vulnerable. This includes £900 means-tested Cost of Living Payments, the Energy Price Guarantee and this week's £842 million Household Support Fund extension.
From this week, Shropshire Council will receive £4.2m and Telford & Wrekin Council will receive £3m in this latest round of funding to help families to buy essentials in the face of rising costs.
This latest grant takes the total level of Household Support Funding provided to Shropshire residents to £10,443,976 and to Telford & Wrekin residents to £7,572,735.
The Household Support Fund grant is provided to local councils to enable them to provide support to families struggling to cover essential costs who might not be eligible for other Government support schemes.
The extension of the Household Support Fund demonstrates the Conservatives' commitment to support the most vulnerable in times of financial hardship.
